Unlike Slovenia, Croatia (population: 4.5 million) is not yet an an affiliate of the Western european Union, nonetheless it is predicted to join soon. Croatia is now a functioning capitalist country, and the free-market reforms installed by the govt. have been successful.
Naturally, the Croatian evolution to democracy and free trade was slowed down thanks to the Yugoslav civil war of the 90's, but now the war has been over for more then 10 years, it is impressive how well Croatia has been doing. All economic signals point upward, as for example: Foreign investment, world trade or the most recent development on the employment market.
Of course, if there's one thing Croatia is graced with it has to be its natural beauty : It's got a long shore with the Mediterranean Sea, and because of this fact Croatia is obviously in one league with such countries like Italy, Greece, and Spain, the sole difference being that in Croatia visitors can still find more perfect nature.
This is a massive advantage for the country, where you'll find some of the finest Mediterranean cities, one of them being the idyllic and breathtaking Dubrovnik, which was added to the UNESCO's list for International heritage preservation sites - it can be seen as one of the major travel destinations of the Earth. Croatia's tourism industry is well developed, but at the same time it has still huge potential for expansion, essentially a bigger one than the other EU nations that border on the Mediterranean Sea.
